Former IAS officer KS Sreenivasa Raju (IAS:1999:AP), who earlier belonged to the Andhra Pradesh cadre, has been appointed as Principal Secretary in the Telangana Chief Minister’s Office (CMO). The seasoned bureaucrat will now handle key portfolios related to infrastructure and major projects under the leadership of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.
Raju had voluntarily retired from service in 2024 after his efforts to secure the post of TTD Executive Officer (EO) did not materialize. Soon after his retirement, the Telangana government appointed him as an Advisor to the Chief Minister, a role that has now evolved into a full-fledged position within the CMO.
He is no stranger to Telangana governance. During his inter-state cadre deputation, Raju served as Principal Secretary of the Roads and Buildings Department in Telangana for four years beginning in 2019, following the formation of the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government in Andhra Pradesh. When his deputation ended in March 2024, he sought an extension through the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), but permission was not granted, prompting his return to AP cadre service.
His voluntary retirement was subsequently approved by the Centre in June 2024, paving the way for his return to Telangana in a key administrative role.
