On Saturday, November 16, 2024, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved the repatriation of both officers to their parent cadre of AGMUT at the request of the Ministry of Home Affairs. This move strongly indicates their imminent appointment to the respective Chief Secretary positions.

Meena was serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Minority Affairs, while Kumar held the position of Additional Secretary & Mission Director of the Jal Jeevan Mission under the Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation.

The Chief Secretary post in Mizoram has been vacant since October 31, following the retirement of Renu Sharma (IAS:1988:AGMUT). H Lalengmawia (IAS:2005:AGMUT) is currently holding the position on a temporary basis. Meanwhile, the Chief Secretary position in Andaman & Nicobar Islands became vacant after Keshav Chandra (IAS:1995:AGMUT) was transferred to Delhi and subsequently appointed as Chairman of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) on October 30.

This development underscores our consistent accuracy in reporting critical bureaucratic movements.
