In a surprise move, Principal Secretary (revenue) V. Venu (IAS:1990:KL) has strongly protested against the transfer of one of his subordinate officers by the state cabinet without his knowledge and consultation. In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, Venu said he was shocked at the abrupt transfer of young IAS officer V.R. Prem kumar (IAS:2014:KL) from the post of director of Survey and Land records, where he was brought just a few months back. Venu said that as the department head he was satisfied with his junior’s performance, and an abrupt transfer would only demotivate him. Venu has requested the Chief Secretary to urge the Chief Minister and Revenue Minister to review their decision and revoke the transfer.
