Kerala government has quietly re-instated IAS Anupam Mishra, who was suspended by the government for violating the quarantine rules. He has been posted as the new Sub-Collector of Alappuzha.
In his order the Chief Secretary Vishwas Mehta said the 2016-batch IAS officer was re-inducted as this was his first lapse.
“Anupam Mishra is a young officer and this is his first mistake. Government has decided not to take further action by giving an oral warning not to repeat such mistakes. Anupam Mishra is reinstated in service,” says the order issued recently.
Anupam Mishra had gone to Singapore and Indonesia for his honeymoon and re-joined duty on March 19. The Kollam Collector had directed him to self-quarantine at his official residence. However, Mishra left for Bengaluru the same day without informing the government.
