Karnataka: 37 IPS officers shifted, several promoted

In a significant administrative move, the Karnataka state government has executed a major reshuffle within its police force, promoting and transferring a total of 37 IPS officers. The Home Department released orders outlining the changes, and three prominent IPS officers—Kamal Pant, Alok Kumar, and Seemanth Kumar Singh—have been entrusted with new responsibilities as part of this overhaul.

The names of the officers and their postings are given below:

1. Kamal Pant (IPS:1990:KN), DGP, Recriutment, Bengaluru is transferred and posted as DGP & DG, Fire & Emergency Services, Commandant General, Home Guards, DG, State Disaster Response Force, Director, Civil Defence with additional charge of DGP, Recriutment.
2. Alok Kumar (IPS:1994:KN), ADGP, Training, Bengaluru, has been placed in concurrent charge of the post of Special Commissioner, Karnataka State Road Safety Authority, Bengaluru.
3. Seemanth Kumar Singh (IPS:1996:KN), ADGP, Karnataka State Reserve Police, Bengaluru, is placed in concurrent charge of the post of ADGP, Bengaluru Metropolitan Task Force, Bengaluru.
4. Harishekharan P (IPS:1996:KN), ADGP & Additional Director General, Karnataka State Fire and Emergency Services and SDRF, Bengaluru is transferred and posted as ADGP and Additional Commandant General, Home Guards & Ex-officio Additional Director, Civil Defence, Bengaluru.
5. M Nanjundaswami (IPS:1997:KN), Additional Commandant General, Home Guards & Ex-officio Additional Director, Civil Defence, Bengaluru, has been transferred and posted as ADGP & Additional Director General, Karnataka State Fire and Emergency Services and SDRF, Bengaluru.
6. Dr. Chandragupta (IPS:2006:KN), Deputy Inspector General of Police, Western Range, Mangaluru is promoted to officiate in the grade of Inspector General of Police and posted as Additional Commissioner of Police, Crimes, Bengaluru.
7. K Thiyagarajan (IPS:2006:KN), Deputy Inspector General of Police, Eastern Range, Davangere is promoted to officiate in the grade of Inspector General of Police and continued as Inspector General of Police, Eastern Range, Davangere.
8. Amit Singh (IPS:2007:KN), waiting for posting orders, has been posted as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Western Range, Mangaluru.
9. YS Ravi Kumar (IPS:2007:KN), Deputy Inspector General of Police, Directorate of Civil Rights Enforcement is transferred and posted as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Security (Intelligence) Bengaluru.
10. Shantanu Sinha (IPS:2009:KN), who is under training in Manohar Parikar and Institute of Defence Studies and Analysis, New Delhi is promoted to officiate in the grade of Deputy Inspector General of Police .
11. Divya V Gopinath (IPS:2010:KN), Director, Forensic Science Laboratory, Bengaluru is promoted to officiate in the grade of Deputy Inspector General of Police,continued in the same post as Deputy Inspector General of Police and Director,Forensic Science Laboratory, Bengaluru.
12. Sudheer Kumar Reddy CH. (IPS:2010:KN), Superintendent of Police, Forest Cell, Criminal Investigation Department is promoted to Deputy Inspector General of Police and continued as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Forest Cell, Criminal Investigation Department.
13. R Chethan (IPS:2010:KN), Commissioner of Police, Kalburagi City, Kalaburagi is promoted as Deputy Inspector General of Police and continued as Deputy Inspector General of Police & Commissioner of Police,Kalaburagi City, kalaburagi.

15. Karthik Reddy (IPS:2011:KN), Superintendent of Police, Ramanagara is promoted to officiate in the grade of Superintendent of Police (Selection Grade) and continued in the same post until further orders.
16. Kuldeep Kumar R Jain (IPS:2011:KN), Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic East Division, Bengaluru city is promoted to officiate in the grade of Superintendent of Police (Selection Grade)and continued in the same post until further orders.
17. Vinayak Vasantrao Patil (IPS:2011:KN), Deputy Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat, New Delhi is accorded promotion to officiate in the grade of the Superintendent of Police (Selection Grade).
