Justice Vineet Kothari appointed as acting Chief Justice of Madras HC

The central government on Thursday appointed Justice Vineet Kothari, senior-most Judge of the Madras High Court, to perform the duties of the office of Chief Justice of the High Court with effect from 1st January 2021 consequent upon the retirement of Justice Amreshwar Pratap Sahi, Chief Justice of Madras High Court till Justice Sanjib Banerjee, Judge of Calcutta High Court assumes the charge of his office as the Chief Justice of the Madras High Court.
