Justice Hamarsan Singh Thangkhiew takes over as Acting Chief Justice of Meghalaya High Court from September 6, 2025, following the retirement of Justice IP Mukerji.

Justice Hamarsan Singh Thangkhiew, Judge of the Meghalaya High Court, has been appointed to perform the duties of the Chief Justice of the Meghalaya High Court. The appointment will come into effect from September 6, 2025.

This development follows the retirement of Justice Indra Prasanna Mukerji, Chief Justice of the Meghalaya High Court, who demits office on September 5, 2025.

Justice Thangkhiew will serve as Acting Chief Justice until a regular appointment is made.
