Justice A P Sahi has been appointed as the President of the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) for a period of four years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (05.07.2023), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Justice Sahi to the post for a period of four years or until he reaches the age of 70, whichever comes first.
He is a former Chief Justice of High Courts of Madras and Patna.
Additionally, the Appointments Committee has also approved the appointment of 3 Members to the NCRDC.
The newly appointed Members are;
- Bharatkumar Pandya, IRS, Insurance Ombudsman, Mumbai (Retired).
- Dr. Sadhna Shanker, IRS , Principal Director General of Income Tax, CBDT, New Delhi.
- Air Vice Marshal Jonnalagadda Rajendra, AVSM VSM, Retired as the Judge Advocate General, Air Vice Marshal.
The Members will serve in the NCDRC for a period of four years or until they reach the age of 67, whichever comes earlier.
