JS Meena appointed as IG in BPR&D

Senior IPS officer Jitendra Singh Meena (IPS:2007:CG), currently serving as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), has been appointed as Inspector General (IG) in the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D).

According to an order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Monday (16.06.2025), the competent authority has approved his appointment to the post from the date of assumption of charge until the completion of his central deputation tenure up to 14 January 2029 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Meena was initially appointed to central deputation for five years by an order dated 13 December 2023, and he assumed charge in the CBI on 15 January 2024.

Notably, Jitendra Singh Meena was among 65 IPS officers empanelled on May 11 for holding Inspector General or equivalent-level posts in the Government of India. His latest appointment as IG in BPR&D follows this empanelment.
