The Jammu and Kashmir government on October 21 acted upon the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) order and relieved senior IPS officer Chandan Kohli (IPS: 2013: AGMUT) from his current position as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Jammu. He has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Senior Executive Cadre of the Cabinet Secretariat on a deputation basis for a period of 4 years, enabling him to assume his new role at the Centre. Following this development, the Union Territory government has implemented a reshuffle in the police administration.
Vinod Kumar (IPS), who was serving as the SSP in Udhampur, has been transferred and appointed as the new SSP in Jammu. Swarn Singh Kotwal (IPS), who held the position of Commandant at SDRF 1st Battalion in Srinagar, has been transferred and assigned as the Director of the Special Security Force in Jammu & Kashmir, replacing Joginder Singh. Joginder Singh, the outgoing Director of Special Security Force, J&K, has been transferred and designated as the new SSP in Udhampur.
