IRS officer Nikhil Saraswat (IRS-IT:2014) has been appointed as Private Secretary to Minister of State for Road Transport & Highways, Ajay Tamta. As a result of this appointment, his current tenure as Deputy Secretary in the Government e-Market Place has been curtailed. He will assume his role at the level of Deputy Secretary.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (18.07.2024), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved the proposal to appoint Nikhil Saraswat to the post of Private Secretary, effective from the date he assumes charge.
His tenure will last until April 09, 2028, for the balance period of her four-year deputation tenure, or on a co-terminus basis, or until he ceases to function as Private Secretary to the Minister, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
