IRS officer Bejoy John (IRS-C&CE:2008) has been appointed as Private Secretary to Minister of State for Minority Affairs and Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, George Kurian. He will serve in the Ministry of Minority Affairs. As a result of this appointment, his current tenure as Director in the Department of Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade has been curtailed. He will assume his role at the level of Director.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesdya (16.07.2024), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved the proposal to appoint Bejoy John to the post of Private Secretary, effective from the date he assumes charge.
His tenure will last until January 23, 2028, for the balance period of her five-year deputation tenure, or on a co-terminus basis, or until he ceases to function as Private Secretary to the Minister, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
