IRS officer Abhishek Narang (IRS-IT:2008) has been appointed as Private Secretary to Chirag Paswan, Minister for Food Processing Industries. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (28.06.2024), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal to appoint Abhishek Narang to the post of Private Secretary with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post.
His tenure will last until January 31, 2025 (i.e for the maximum admissible limit of 7 year away from cadre) or on co-terminus basis or till he ceases to function as Private Secretary to the Minister or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Earlier, Abhishek Narang was appointed Private Secretary to Som Prakash, Minister of State for Commerce & Industry, in November 2022, serving in this role until the end of the second term of the BJP-led NDA government.
