The deputation tenure of Rajiv Ranjan Bhagat (IPS:1998:GJ) as Inspector General (IG) in the Special Protection Group (SPG) has been extended for a period of two years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (01.04.2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of Office of Secretary (Security), Cabinet Secretariat to extend the deputation tenure of Mr Bhagat for a period of two years beyond 20.05.2025.
Bhagat was initially appointed as IG in SPG in February 2019 for a two-year term and has since received multiple extensions.
