In a tragic development, senior IPS officer Smiti Chaudhary (IPS:2012:HY) passed away early Friday morning in Nashik, Maharashtra. She was 48 and had been undergoing treatment for an illness. She breathed her last at 6 a.m.
Chaudhary was married to Rajesh Kumar, a senior IPS officer of Maharashtra cadre, currently serving as Director of the Maharashtra Police Academy (MPA), Nashik. She had been living in Nashik with her husband and receiving treatment there.
At the time of her passing, she was posted as Superintendent of Police (SP) in the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Ambala. She had been on medical leave since February 2, 2024.
