IPS Officer Nachiketa Jha appointed Joint Secretary in NSCS

Senior IPS officer Nachiketa Jha has been appointed Joint Secretary in the National Security Council Secretariat for three years on deputation.

Senior IPS officer Nachiketa Jha (IPS:2003:UP) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS) for a period of three years.

According to an order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Thursday (December 18, 2025), the competent authority has approved his appointment on deputation basis for three years from the date of assumption of charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Nachiketa Jha is currently serving as Inspector General (IG), Establishment, at the DGP Headquarters, Lucknow, and has been holding the position since January 2025. The MHA has requested the Uttar Pradesh government to relieve him immediately to enable him to take up his new assignment at the Centre.
