November 30 is going to be entered as a golden day into the annals of the police history of Madhya Pradesh. Reason: State’s Director General of Police (DGP) Sudhir Saxena (IPS:1987:MP) is retiring on that day and he will be given the salute of the parade with the Guard of Honour by none other than his own daughter, Sonakshi Saxena (IPS:2020:MP).
A farewell ceremony is going to be organized at the Motilal Nehru Stadium at Lal Parade Ground in Bhopal for this purpose. She will be the commander of that salute parade. Preparations are being made for a grand farewell ceremony by the state police on this occasion. The police drill for the guard of honour will begin tomorrow.
Sudhir Kumar Saxena took over as DGP on March 4, 2022. After more than three decades of an illustrious police career his term is going to end on November 30.
His daughter Sonakshi Saxena is currently posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police (Information) in Bhopal. Prior to this, she has worked as Assistant Commissioner of Police in Indore and Additional Superintendent of Police in Jabalpur.
A daughter saluting her own father on his retirement is going to happen for the first time in MP Police.
