India is set to appoint two new faces in its embassies in neighboring Afghanistan and Bangladesh.
According to sources, India’s current envoy to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations or ASEAN, Rudrendra Tandon (IFS:1994), is likely to replace incumbent Vinay Kumar (IFS:1992) in Kabul.
Tandon was previously heading the Pakistan-Afghanistan-Iran desk in the Indian foreign ministry.
Additional Secretary Vikram Doraiswami (IFS:1992) is likely to replace Indian high commissioner to Bangladesh, Riva Ganguly Das (IFS:1986), who is expected to be back in Delhi and take over as Secretary (East).
Doraiswami was in charge of the Bangladesh-Myanmar desk till recently.
Neena Malhotra (IFS:1992), Additional Secretary in the MEA, could be India’s next ambassador to Rome, as the incumbent- Reenat Sandhu (IFS:1989) is expected to return to New Delhi.
