The Modi government on Wednesday announced the in-situ elevation of three senior IPS officers within key agencies—National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), Intelligence Bureau (IB), and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). Temporarily upgrading their positions from Level-15 to Level-16 in the pay matrix.

The name of the officers are as follows:

  1. Vivek Gogia (IPS: 1991: AGMUT), presently serving as the Director of the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), has been in-situ elevated to Level 16 in the Pay Matrix. This elevation will remain in effect until his superannuation on July 31, 2025.
  2. R A Chandra Sekhar (IPS: 1991: KL), who currently holds the position of Additional Director (Level 15 in the pay matrix) in IB, has been appointed as the Special Director in the Intelligence Bureau at Level 16 for a two-year term. This appointment involves the temporary upgrading of his current post.
  3. Piyush Anand (IPS: 1991: UP), presently serving as Additional Director General (ADG) in CISF at Level 15 in the pay matrix, has been appointed as Special Director General in CISF. This in-situ appointment involves the temporary elevation of his post to Level 16.
