SS Nakul (IAS:2010:KN) has been appointed as Private Secretary to the Minister for Finance and Corporation Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman. His appointment specifically pertains to the Ministry of Finance.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (21.06.2024), the competent authority has approved the proposal to appoint SS Nakul to the post of Private Secretary with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post.
His tenure will last until January 24, 2026, for the remaining five years of his central deputation, or on a co-terminus basis with the Minister, or until he ceases to function as Private Secretary to the Minister, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
In the second term of the Modi government, SS Nakul was appointed Private Secretary to Nirmala Sitharaman in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs in December 2021. Later, in February 2022, he was given the additional charge of Private Secretary in the Ministry of Finance. Since then, he has been working as Private Secretary for both ministries under Nirmala Sitharaman till the appointment of Anirudh Sravan Pulipaka (IAS:2011:KN) as Private Secretary in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs on September 14, 2023.
