A large group of senior IAS officers from various batches and cadres were supposed to visit Hyderabad on Friday to study Telangana’s innovation ecosystem, but it was cancelled at the last minute on Thursday due to former president Ramnath Kovind’s unscheduled visit to the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie, where the officers are training for mid-career roles. Reportedly, Sri Kivind will address trainee officers on Sunday (April 16, 2023).

A group of 75 bureaucrats was expected to land in Hyderabad on Thursday evening from Dehradun. They were scheduled to visit the Telangana government-led incubator T-Hub and India’s first and largest prototyping center T-Works on Friday in addition to Indian School of Business (ISB), as part of their mid-career training.

Telangana Industries & IT principal secretary, Jayesh Ranjan (IAS:1992:TG) said the state government was informed Thursday evening about the cancellation. Rajan said that he spoke with the Joint Director of LABSNAA and they informed us that the scheduled visit to Hyderabad has been rescheduled since the former President is visiting LABSNAA on Friday. He further said that although we haven’t been told about their rejigged schedule, it may happen in the last week of April. The main purpose of the visit was to study Telangana’s innovation ecosystem and garner an administrative perspective through interaction with various stakeholders including startups.
