IAS officer Shweta Teotia (IAS:2011:GJ) has been appointed as Director in the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEF&CC). Her appointment has been made on a lateral shift basis, as she was serving as Deputy Director (Director level) at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on April 9, 2026, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the recommendation of the Civil Services Board to appoint her as Director in the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change for a tenure up to February 17, 2030 (i.e. the balance period of her five-year deputation tenure under the central staffing scheme at Director level), or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Notably, she has been serving as Deputy Director at LBSNAA since February 2025.
