The central deputation tenure of IAS officer Saket Kumar (IAS:2009:BH) as Joint Secretary in the Department of Commerce has been extended for two more years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Saturday (July 12, 2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the extension beyond August 16, 2025, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Saket Kumar was appointed to the Department of Commerce on March 21, 2025. Prior to this, he served as Private Secretary to Union Home Minister Amit Shah from June 2019. Before that, he worked as Private Secretary to Minister of State Manoj Sinha starting in July 2018
