IAS officer Dr. S Tejaswi Naik (IAS:2009:MP) has been appointed as Private Secretary to the Minister for Heavy Industries & Steel HD Kumaraswamy. His appointment specifically pertains to the Ministry of Heavy Industries.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (21.06.2024), the competent authority has approved the proposal to appoint Dr. S Tejaswi Naik to the post of Private Secretary with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post.
His tenure will last until December 14, 2027, for the remaining five years of his central deputation as Private Secretary, or on a co-terminus basis with the Minister, or until he ceases to function as Private Secretary to the Minister, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Earlier in the second term of the Modi government, Dr. S Tejaswi Naik was first appointed as Private Secretary to Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on December 7, 2022. When Narendra Singh Tomar resigned as Agriculture Minister, Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda was given the charge of Agriculture Minister, and Dr. S Tejaswi Naik was appointed as his Private Secretary in December 2023.
