IAS officer Chaudhari Uday Gaurishankar (IAS:2010:MH) has been appointed as Private Secretary to the Minister for Jal Shakti CR Patil. His appointment specifically pertains to the Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (21.06.2024), the competent authority has approved the proposal to appoint Chaudhari Uday Gaurishankar to the post of Private Secretary with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post.
His tenure will last until June 23, 2026, for the remaining five years of his central deputation or on a co-terminus basis with the Minister, or until he ceases to function as Private Secretary to the Minister, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Earlier, Chaudhari Uday Gaurishankar served as Private Secretary to the Minister for Jal Shakti, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, during the Modi government’s second tenure. He was appointed to the post on October 2, 2021. Before that, he was serving as Deputy Secretary in the Cabinet.
