IAS officer Ashutosh Niranjan (IAS:2010:UP) has been appointed as Private Secretary to Dr. Virendra Kumar, Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment. Previously serving as Director in the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), his tenure in the ministry was curtailed following his new appointment.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (28.06.2024), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved the proposal to appoint Ashutosh Niranjan to the post of Private Secretary, effective from the date he assumes charge.
His tenure will last until October 11, 2028, for the balance period of his five-year tenure, or on a co-terminus basis, or until he ceases to function as Private Secretary to the Minister, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
