IAS officer Amit Kumar (IAS:2012:BH) has been appointed as Private Secretary to Sarbananda Sonowal, Minister for Ports, Shipping & Waterways for five years. He will assume the charge of the post at Deputy Secretary level.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (13.08.2024), the competent authority has approved the appointment of Mr. Kumar to the post for five years with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post or co-terminus basis or till he ceases to function as Private Secretary, to the Ministry or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
