The Income Tax Department has suggested that the public sector undertakings of Goa should resolve their tax related disputes through ‘Vivad se Vishwas” scheme. The Goa office of income tax has written to the state Chief Secretary in this regard.
The Parliament on Friday approved a bill that would allow complete waiver of their interest and penalty, if the taxpayers pay due taxes by March 31.
According to the Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (Goa), B V Gopinath, five state PSUs still owe 2 crore tax dues.
