TVSN Prasad (IAS:1988:HY) was Thursday appointed as the regular Chief Secretary of Haryana as the state. Prasad had been handling the responsibility of the Chief Secretary as additional charge since March 15 in place of Sanjeev Kaushal (IAS:1986:HY), who had proceeded on leave. Kaushal retired on July 31.
Prasad will also hold the charge of General Administration, Human Resources, Personnel and Training, Parliamentary Affairs, Vigilance Departments and Secretary in charge of plan coordination and Chief Resident Commissioner, Haryana Bhawan, New Delhi.
Notably, for over four months, he looked after the three top administrative posts in the state — Chief Secretary, Home Secretary and Financial Commissioner, Revenue (FCR). In fact, Prasad has been looking after the state home department since August 2022. In September 2023, the government gave him the responsibility of Additional Chief Secretary (revenue) with additional charge of Home Secretary. Later in March this year, the government gave him the additional charge of Chief Secretary.
Earlier on July 4, Anurag Rastogi (IAS:1990:HY) was appointed as Additional Chief Secretary (home) while relieving Prasad of the assignment.
