Haryana officers to go through written test for IAS

0

In a first, the Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) will hold a written examination for entry into the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). The state government has invited all Group ‘A’ non-HCS officers to apply to the HPSC by June 28, for five IAS posts of Haryana cadre.

The department has asked the administrative secretaries to ensure that these candidates hold posts equivalent to the deputy collector.

Currently, there’re three ways to get into the IAS – direct recruitment by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), promotion of eligible HCS officers, and elevation of Group ‘A’ non-HCS officers.

The syllabus of the examination will be for three hours. The paper will have two parts – Part 1 will have 30 questions and Part 2 will have 70. The examination will be in English.
