The buzz around Haryana’s bureaucracy is intensifying as a major reshuffle appears imminent, with IAS officers anticipating significant changes, particularly in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO). Discussions are centred on the appointment of the next Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) or Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister.

Initially, Apoorva Kumar Singh (IAS:1991:HY), currently serving as the Additional Chief Secretary for Public Health Engineering and Energy Departments, emerged as a frontrunner for the coveted ACS position in the CMO, as reported by www.legendofficers.com.

However, the scenario has since evolved with two other prominent names entering the spotlight. Rakesh Gupta (IAS:1997:HY), presently on central deputation as Additional Secretary in the President’s Secretariat, and Arun Kumar Gupta (IAS:1992:HY), who holds the position of Additional Chief Secretary for Town & Country Planning, Urban Estates, and Industries & Commerce, have joined the race.

At one point, Rakesh Gupta’s candidacy was strongly considered for the Principal Secretary post in the CMO. Subsequently, Arun Kumar Gupta’s name gained traction for the ACS role. Currently, all three officers remain key contenders, sparking widespread interest across Haryana. The state’s bureaucratic and political circles are eagerly awaiting the final decision, which will have significant implications for the administrative framework.
