A 2014-batch IAS officer of Haryana cadre, Rani Nagar, on Thursday announced on social media that she is resigning from IAS. The 38 year old officer is posted as a director in state archives department. She wrote on Facebook and Twitter that she would formally send her resignation once the lockdown comes to an end, and move to her parental home at Ghaziabad in UP. Rani did not respond to queries regarding the reasons behind her decision.

The officer had, in June 2018, filed a complaint with Haryana State Commission for Women against an additional chief secretary-level bureaucrat of Haryana, accusing of harassing her and even threatening to spoil her annual confidential report (ACR). She later filed an FIR also against the senior officer.

She had in past also filed several complaints with the police and court, regarding threat to her life.

Rani has uploaded all her complaints and grievances, along with supporting documents, on her social media account.

In December 2018, she had written a post that the door of her room at UT guest house was found opened when she returned from out of station. As recently as April 17, she uploaded a recorded video on her Facebook account, stating that if something happened to her and her sister, this video should be shown to the district court Chandigarh, where a complaint filed by her is pending.
