IAS officer Rani Nagar (IAS:2014:HY), who was in news recently for first resigning, and then withdrawing her resignation before it’s acceptance, has been appointed as additional secretary, Citizen Resources Information Department (CRID), Haryana. The state government has issued a notification in this regard.
Earlier, in May this year, Rani Nagar, who at that time was posted as Director, Archives and Additional Director, Social Justice and Empowerment department in Haryana, had announced her resignation on social media citing threat to personal safety, but had withdrawn it before its acceptance by the centre and was awaiting her new posting since then. Now her new role as Additional Secretary, CRID, will bring in much respite, not only her, but also to Haryana CM Manohar Khattar, who had refused to accept her resignation.
Incidentally, the controversies around the civil servant have been growing since December 2017, when she was posted as SDM, Dabawali in Sirsa district. Nagar had then complained about threats to her life from an
unknown person and gave a police complaint. She had uploaded all the complaints made by her till date and her grievances along with the documents on her social media account.
Then, again in June 2018, the officer accused an additional chief secretary level senior Haryana bureaucrat of harassing her and even filed a complaint before the Haryana state commission. She also complained to police, apprehending threat to her life and sought registration of an FIR against the senior bureaucrat. A complaint filed by her is also pending before a Chandigarh court. The state, however, had given clean chit to the senior bureaucrat in that case.
