Haryana govt relieves senior IAS officer V Umashankar for central deputation

The Haryana government on Tuesday (05.11.2024) relieved senior IAS officer V Umashankar (IAS:1993:HY) and placed his services at the disposal of Government of India to enable him to take up his new assignment as Secretary of Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

The Haryana government on Tuesday (05.11.2024) relieved senior IAS officer V Umashankar (IAS:1993:HY) and placed his services at the disposal of Government of India to enable him to take up his new assignment as Secretary of Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH). He was serving as Principal Secretary to Chief Minister; Administrative Secretary In-charge of CM Window; Additional Chief Secretary, Information, Public Relations, Languages and Culture Department and Additional Chief Secretary, Foreign Cooperation Department.

Notably, the major changes were made in the central government bureaucracy on October 19 by appointing 7 Secretary level officers in various Ministries and Departments including V Umashankar, who was appointed as Secretary, MoRTH.
