Inspector General (IG) Harminder Pal, a BSF cadre officer of 1984 batch, on Thursday took over as the Odisha Frontier Commander of Border Security Force (BSF) replacing IG Ashwini Kumar Singh.
The appointment was effected after Singh was transferred to Siliguri in West Bengal.
After assuming office Harminder Pal said the anti-Maoist operations will be intensified in coming days. Besides, focus will be given on facilitation of various developmental projects in the cut-off area.
