Gujarat : K Kailashnathan re-appointed as Chief Principal Secretary to CM

The Gujarat government on Sunday (19.09.2021) re-appointed retired IAS officer K Kailashnathan (Retd.IAS:1979:GJ) as the Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.

As per an order, he has been appointed to the post on contractual basis with effect from 13 th September this year on co-terminus basis with term of Chief Minister or until further order whichever is earlier.

Kailashnathan is the most trusted officer of the then CM and now Prime Minister Narendra Nodi. He was the Chief Principal Secretary to the CM in the previous governments of Anandiben Patel and Vijay Rupani as well.

Kailashnathan joined the CMO in Gujarat in 2006 as the Principal Secretary to then Gujarat CM Modi and has been continuing in the CMO since. On the day of his retirement in May 2013, the new post of the Chief Principal Secretary was created and since then he has been holding that post. The 68-year-old officer has been granted six extensions since May 2013, when he retired as the Additional Chief Secretary to Modi.
