Gujarat govt promotes six IPS officers; two elevated to DGP rank

The Gujarat government on Monday (December 1, 2025) promoted six IPS officers, elevating two to the Director General of Police (DGP) rank and four to the Inspector General (IG) rank.

According to the notification:

1. Manoj Shashidhar (IPS:1994:GJ), Special Director, CBI, currently on central deputation, has been granted proforma promotion to the DGP rank.
2. Raju Bhargava (IPS:1995:GJ), ADGP, Armed Units, Gandhinagar, has been promoted to the DGP rank.
3. Divya Mishra (IPS:2007:GJ), Deputy Director, Intelligence Bureau, on central deputation, has been given proforma promotion to the IG rank.
4. Deepan Bhandran (IPS:2007:GJ), Director, Senior Executive Cadre, Cabinet Secretariat, on central deputation, has been granted proforma promotion to the IG rank.
5. Saurabh Tolumbia (IPS:2007:GJ), Adviser (Security), GAIL, on central deputation, has been accorded proforma promotion to the IG rank.
6. PV Rathod (IPS:2007:GJ), DIGP, CID (Crime), Gandhinagar, has been promoted to the IG rank.
