The Gujarat government Monday (24.07.2023) appointed retired IAS officer Anita Karwal (IAS:1988:GJ) as Chairperson of the Gujarat Real Estate Regulatory Authority (Gujarat RERA). The post remained vacant for almost 9 months since retired IAS officer Dr. Amarjit Singh’s (IAS:1982:GJ) tenure ended in November 2022.
She has held important positions both in the state and Central governments where she held important position such as the Secretary of the Department of School Education and Literacy in the Union Ministry of Education, Chairperson of the Central Board of Secondary Education, Chief Electoral Officer of Gujarat, Primary Education Secretary in the state government and Nirmal Gujarat Mission director.
