In a surprising development, senior IPS officer Abhay Chudasama (IPS:1999:GJ) has resigned from his position as Principal of the State Police Academy, Karai, Gandhinagar, just eight months before his scheduled retirement. Chudasama was recently promoted to the rank of Additional Director General of Police (ADGP).
Chudasama had been serving as Principal of the State Police Academy in Karai in Gandhinagar, since April 2024 and was expected to continue serving until his retirement in October 2025. Before this, he served as the Inspector General of Gandhinagar Range until his transfer to Karai in 2023.
The reasons behind Chudasama’s early resignation have not been disclosed.
The state home department has not responded to media queries regarding Chudasama’s resignation. However, sources indicate that the state government has yet to accept his resignation.
