Govt shortlists three names for CEA’s job

The central government has shortlisted three candidates for the position of Chief Economic Adviser (CEA) and is likely to make its selection soon.

The three names are ;

1. Poonam Gupta
2. Sanjeev Sanyal
3. Pami Dua

While Gupta is serving as Director General of National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER), Sanyal is Principal Economic Advisor in the Finance Ministry. Dua is Director and Senior Professor of Economics, Delhi School of Economics.

The three year term of incumbent K V Subramanian ends December 17. He had announced on October 8 that he will not seek an extension after his three year term and will be returning to the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad, where he is a professor of finance.
