Govt appoints 11 Judicial and 12 Administrative Members to AFT

The central government has approved the appointment of 11 judicial members and 12 administrative members to the Armed Forces Tribunal (AFT). They will be assigned to various benches across the country where many posts were vacant.

A memorandum from the Secretariat of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet specifies that judicial and administrative members are appointed for a period of four years after they assume office or until they reach the age of 67, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

They are;

Judicial Member:

1. Justice (Retd) Ravindra Nath Kakkar, Judge, Allahabad High Court.
2. Justice Ananda Kumar Mukherjee, Judge, High Court of Calcutta.
3. Justice Anu Malhotra, Judge, High Court of Delhi.
4. Justice Asha Menon, Judge, High Court of Delhi.
5. Justice (Retd) Shailendra Shukla, Judge, High Court of Madhya Pradesh.
6. Justice Sudhir Mittal, Judge, Punjab & Haryana High Court.
7. Justice (Retd) Surinder Gupta, Judge, Punjab & Haryana High Court.
8. Justice (Retd) Goverdhan Bardhar, Judge, Rajasthan High Court.
9. Justice (Retd) Shekher Dhawan, Judge, Punjab & Haryana High Court.
10. Justice (Retd) Madhumati Mitra, Judge, High Court of Calcutta.
11. Justice (Retd) Anil Kumar, Judge, Allahabad High Court.

Administrative Member:
