The Union government on Monday allowed airlines to provide in-flight Wi-Fi services in India. Passengers will be able to access Wi-Fi when their devices are on airplane mode. Telecom Regulatory Authority of India had in 2018 recommended that both Internet, and Mobile Communications on board Aircraft (MCA) service should be permitted as In-Flight Connectivity (IFC) services in Indian airspace.
