The Modi government on Tuesday announced the empanelment of four senior officials to assume the Apex-level post within the Indian Railway Management Service (IRMS). The officers selected for this prestigious position include A K Khandelwal (1987: IRMS), Roopa Srinivasan (1987: IRMS), Ravinder Goyal (1987: IRMS), and Hari Shankar Verma (1987: IRMS).
It is noteworthy that A K Khandelwal and Ravinder Goyal have service tenures extending until September and November of the current year, respectively. On the other hand, Roopa Srinivasan and Hari Shankar Verma are slated to remain in their roles until September 2025 and March 2026, respectively.
Additionally, among the four officers empanelled for the Apex Scale post, A K Khandelwal (1987: IRMS) has been appointed as Member (Infrastructure) on the Railway Board. Simultaneously, Roopa Srinivasan (1987: IRMS) has been regularized as Member (Finance), a position she had been holding in an additional capacity since January 2024. It is noteworthy that she has been leading the National Academy of Indian Railways (NAIR) in Vadodara as Director-General since January 2024.
