The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet on Saturday (21.09.2024) approved the appointment of four IPS officers from the 1993 batch as Special Directors in the Intelligence Bureau (IB). They have been promoted to the rank of Special Director on in-situ basis as they were already working as Additional Directors in the IB.
They are:
- Rithwik Rudra (Himachal Pradesh cadre)
- Mahesh Dixit (Andhra Pradesh cadre)
- Praveen Kumar (West Bengal cadre)
- Arvind Kumar (Bihar cadre)
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), these appointments have been made on in-situ basis by temporarily upgrading the their posts of Additional Director for a tenure of two years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
