Former Gorakhpur DM Rajeev Rautela sent back to Uttarakhand


The Uttar Pradesh government has transferred IAS officer Rajeev Rautela back to his Uttarakhand cadre. As a Gorakhpur DM, Rajeev Rautla had courted controversy during the the Gorakhpur Lok Sabhb by-poll counting on March 12. Later, on March 17, in a major bureaucratic reshuffle, Yogi Adityanath government had shifted Rautela from Gorakhpur and promoted as Divisional Commissioner of Devipatan.

Rajeev Rautela, a Provincial Civil Service (PCS) officer of the 1982 batch, was promoted to the Indian Administrative Services (IAS) in 2002. Ever since his the formation of Uttarakhand as a separate state on Nov 9, 2000, he has been on deputation in Uttar Pradesh. He had recently submitted a representation to the Ministry of Personnel seeking to be sent back to his cadre.
