Former Kerala Chief Secretary Dr. V Venu (Retd.IAS:1990:KL) has been appointed as Chairperson of the Kochi Biennale Foundation (KBF) by its Board of Trustees. President of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale and KBF’s trustee Bose Krishnamachari has said in a communication that Dr. Venu’s appointment had come into effect from September 21. According to him, Venu would work on honorary basis. The KBF’s primary function is to convene mega art event.
Venu brings with him vast experience of leadership in the art and culture segment by working for both the Kerala government as
well as the Government of India. He was the Director of Tourism as well as the Secretary of the Tourism Ministry under the Kerala government before becoming the Chief Secretary of the state.
Similarly, when he was on Centre’s deputation he worked as the Director General of the National Museum in New Delhi. Venu has been associated with the KBF since its inception in 2012 and played a pivotal role in establishing partnership between the Foundation and the government of Kerala. He is also credited with setting up and curating a new museum called ‘Keralam’.
