The Central Vigilance Commission has directed all central government departments and banks to ensure timely disposal of alleged corruption cases against officials, who are set to retire shortly.
The commission has been writing to the government departments off and on since 2007, most recently in July 2019, on the need to bring such accused officers to justice in time.
The directive issued by the commission says,”…such retirement cases should be received by the first week of the month of superannuation of the officer(s) concerned,”
The directive said that the case received by the commission after the first week of the month would be returned without its advice and “action recommended against the concerned authority(ies).”
