Sudarshan Bhagat (IOFS:2012), currently serving as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Coal, has been prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (January 29, 2026), the competent authority approved his premature repatriation on personal grounds, with the provision of extended cooling-off.
Sudarshan Bhagat was appointed to the post in January 2023 for a tenure of four years, which was scheduled to end in January 2027. However, he is being repatriated nearly one year before the completion of his tenure.
