Dr Manoj Soni was appointed the Chairman of the country’s premier government recruiting agency, i.e., the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Soni was appointed as the UPSC Chairman on Tuesday (05.04.2022), and his tenure will end on 27 June 2023. Dr Soni has been appointed to replace the previous UPSC chairman Pradip Kumar Joshi. Prior to this, Dr Soni has been the vice-chancellor thrice. These include two terms as chancellor of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University and one term as chancellor of Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. Interestingly, Dr Soni’s Baroda appointment made him the youngest ever vice-chancellor of a varsity in India.
