New Delhi, May 16 2025: Naval Kishore Ram (IAS:2008:MH), currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Department of Revenue, has been prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre Maharashtra.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday, the competent authority has approved the proposal of the Department of Revenue to repatriate Ram to his cadre on personal grounds. His central deputation was originally scheduled to end on August 10, 2025.
He had taken over as Joint Secretary in the Department of Revenue in August 2024. As per the August 7 appointment order, he was to serve for an overall tenure of five years till August 10, 2025, extendable by two more years subject to cadre clearance. However, his repatriation comes nearly three months ahead of schedule.
Ram began his central deputation as Deputy Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office in August 2020 for a four-year term. He was later elevated to Director in the PMO with effect from January 1, 2022. On June 13, 2024, he was empanelled by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) for holding Joint Secretary or equivalent posts in the Government of India, following which he was posted to the Department of Revenue.
